In cloud or on-premise?

The shiftplan.io subscription includes installation and maintenance of the application on our servers in the cloud, so you can access the application wherever you have internet access. However, if you prefer, we can also install the application and all accompanying infrastructure on your own server.

In most cases, we recommend using the cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application, as it is more cost-effective and easier to maintain. We will describe in more detail the advantages of such installation. At the end, we will also present cases where installing the application on your own server (on-premise) might be more suitable.

Advantages of cloud installation

With cloud installation, you only use the application, and we take care of everything else.

If you decide to use the application in the cloud, we take care of the installation and maintenance of the server infrastructure entirely. All maintenance costs are already included in the monthly subscription price of the application. Cloud installation is especially suitable if you do not have an existing server infrastructure or if you do not have an internal IT department that could take care of maintaining hardware and network.

If you use the application in the cloud, we guarantee:

  • Automatic data archiving.
  • Data security against intrusions and other unauthorized access.
  • Smooth access to the application over the internet.
  • Maintenance and ongoing upgrading of the application and accompanying server equipment.

Installation on your own server


Installing on your own server makes it easier to integrate with other internal systems of the organization.

Installing on your own server is especially useful if you already have your own server infrastructure in your organization and adequate maintenance of it. Installing on your own server has certain advantages in integrating plandela.si with multiple internal systems (user directory, accounting and HR systems). Integration can thus take place within the internal network of the organization.

Even in the case of using your own server to install and maintain server software, we take care of it. All the necessary server software is already included in the application subscription, so you do not need additional licenses for, for example, an operating system or databases. However, the organization must take care of preparing and maintaining hardware and networking.
