Register Your Working Hours Online

Employees can now register their arrivals and departures using the Employee Portal. Online registration allows the recording of working hours even when the use of registration terminals and cards is impractical - for example, in the case of a larger number of smaller remote workplaces and for work from home.

Online registration can be enabled only on selected locations (networks) or on selected computers and phones. If online registration is enabled, an additional section appears to the employee upon logging in to the portal, where they can perform the registration. The same rules regarding presence calculation apply for recording as for registration with a card at the terminal.

Limitation of registration to a network

Limiting online registration to a selected network enables registration from all devices that log onto the internet through that network. This way, employees can register from their personal computer at work, as well as from their mobile phone connected to the internet via your organization's wireless network.

On the employee's mobile phone, the registration option is only available when they are at your wireless network location; if the employee logs into the internet through their mobile network or another wireless network, they cannot register. Thus, registration is not possible when the employee is not at work.

Limitation of registration with a digital certificate

Online registration can also be limited to devices that have the appropriate digital certificate installed. For example, we can enable registration only from selected computers in certain offices.

Digital certificates for registration are available to the system administrator in the shiftplan.io application. The system administrator must install certificates on the appropriate computers and ensure that employees cannot transfer the certificates to other devices.

Which method of online registration is suitable for our organization?

Limitation of registration to a network is less organizationally demanding because registration does not need to be enabled on individual devices. It is only necessary to specify the network, and registration will work on all devices in the network.

Limitation of registration with a digital certificate enables a more precise determination of devices that allow online registration, thereby reducing the possibility of abuse and improving registration traceability. However, this method requires more work from the system administrator because they must install the digital certificate on all target devices.
